At a young age I realized I wanted to work in the health-care field, especially with women.  I worked in the dental field for 12 years after graduating from high school.  I thought I wanted to be a dentist because this was my only experience in patient care, but as fate would have it, I was introduced to Naturopathic Medicine.  I knew in that exact moment that this was the career I had been searching for; a career in which I could learn as much about the body, help prevent disease, live a true and meaningful life, and help empower and enrich women’s lives.  I am a Portland native and was fortunate to have a Naturopathic Medical School so close to home.  I received a Doctorate Degree in Naturopathic Medicine from NUNM and am licensed and board certified in the state of Oregon.  Every day I see my patients transform and achieve wellness.  I get super excited teaching my patients about health by drawing silly pictures or using my hands to demonstrate how the body works.   I believe the body has an amazing ability to self-heal yet sometimes needs a little support and direction.  True health is more than the absence of disease; it is the balance of the mind, body, spirit, wellness and vitality.  My trust in the process and understanding that everyone has their own journey makes me more empathetic and supportive.  Through my years of being a physician I have learned the importance of practicing what “I preach”, which has taught me to eat well, find my inner silence through yoga and meditation, and push to continually find balance in my life.  I am grateful every day to have an amazingly supportive husband, a beautiful and healthy daughter, incredible family, friends, and patients in my life.
